A vertically narrow 3/4-length painting of young white male haloed figure standing and gazing up toward the top right corner of the painting. He wears a brown tunic and a crimson cloak. In his right hand, which hangs at his side, he holds a feather pen. His left forearm crosses his chest; in his left hand he grasps a rolled-up scroll. Behind him is a barren reddish landscape and sky; at the left side of the painting a body of blue water is visible. The top of the painting is presented as an arch; the remaining rectangle around the arch is black.

In the middle of the painting is the saint, wearing only a cloth that covers him from the waist down; his head is turned to look up at the sky. To the viewer’s left is a figure tying the saint’s hands behind him, with rope. To the viewer’s right is a male figure with a white beard wearing a brown hooded robe, holding a statuette which the website text refers to as an idol.
