Een kleine duif, overwegend grijs, met donkerroze borst, wat zwart op de vleugels, zit rustig op het balkonhek. A small pigeon, mainly grey, with a dark pink breast and some black on the wings, sits quietly on the balcony railing.

Dezelfde duif, op de rug gezien. De vleugels hebben zwarte banden en zwarte uiteinden. Ook de staart is zwart aan het uiteinde. In de nek glimmen wat paarse veertjes. The same pigeon, seen from behind. The wings have black bands and black tips. The tail is also black at the tip. A few purple feathers shine on the neck.

Een holenduif, op z'n gemak, op het balkonhek. En even omgedraaid.

Een holenduif op de balkonrand. Iets kleiner dan de houtduif, maar ook grotendeels grijs gekleurd. Zijn nekvlek glanst groen in de avondzon. A wood pigeon on the balcony edge. Slightly smaller than the wood pigeon, but also largely grey in colour. Its neck patch shines green in the evening sun.

Zelfde als foto 1, maar nu houdt hij zijn kopje een beetje meer gebogen. Same as photo 1, but now he holds his head a little more bowed.

Dezelfde vogel maar nu aan de andere kant van het balkon, bij het vogelvoederhuisje. Door de andere belichting glanst zijn nek nu paars. The same bird but now on the other side of the balcony, at the bird feeder. Due to the different lighting, its neck now shines purple.

Hetzelfde als foto 3, maar nu zit het duifje wat meer in elkaar gedoken. Same as photo 3, but now the pigeon is sitting a bit more hunched over.

In plaats van de zonsopkomst een holenduif in de avondzon. De nekvlek is groen, of paars, afhankelijk van het licht.

De holenduif komt weer wat vaker op ons balkon. Een elegante, stijlvolle verschijning.
