Two warm brown bottle shaped kilns, joined from the middle down, surrounded by silver grey scaffolding poles and lighter brown wooden horizontal platforms, reflected in a canal beneath. A low wall runs between the kilns and their reflection, this is the same two browns in layers, the darker for shadows, with a space for a light green representation of a grassy bank as a central band. In the background is a graduated early dawn sky, light sky blue at the top, warm sunny yellow in clouds beneath, and light green down to the wall, all reflected in lighter shades in the water too.

I recently finished a set of #ReductionLinocuts of the last #BottleKilns from the Twyfords factory site in #StokeOnTrent from photos I took in 2006. The site has now been redeveloped with housing around these kilns. I've written a longer post about it here: open.substack.com/pub/dailawyr... #art
