“Good morning, Stolas!” The owl blinked his eyes open slowly, a new and different grouping of horse plushies surrounding him. It had been like this every morning since he arrived in the apartment, always waking up to comfort objects adorning him, presumably provided by Blitz since he always woke first. Today was one of those days, and the cheery morning voice left him groaning and stretching; though the pain came with the slight relief of the soothing sound of someone else’s voice. “Good morning, dear.” The words slipped out so naturally, Stolas had to turn away to hide the dusty pink flush on his cheeks. But when he turned back, only a grin and a matching blush returned his embarrassment. The owl let a little hoot slip out, covering his beak. “Sorry Blitz, just a habit–” “No worries, pretty bird.” The pink deepened on the imp’s cheeks as he slipped next to him, passing a plate over with fruit and pancakes. He had started acquiring a taste for them as a substitute for the brioche vole and berry french bread bake that his staff used to prepare with flax eggs. Pancakes were a pretty decent substitute, and one Blitz was eager to show him since it was only a few basic ingredients. “Pancakes today?”
