There's been confusion that the Stop Killing Games initiative would be against games with online functions full stop, but that is not it. The initiative is about considering parliaments to make it mandatory for publishers to construct server structures of single player games with online functionalities in a way that can be easily patched by the publisher after end of support (which they'd be obliged to do), so these games can still be enjoyed by players.

El caso de The Crew fue el siguiente. A inicios de 2024, Ubisoft decidió cerrar los servidores del juego sin haber incluido un modo offline. Y para rematar borró el juego de todas las librerías de cada persona que lo compró.
The Crew no ha sido el único caso. Hay muchos juegos que a día de hoy ya no se pueden jugar online y que eran parte fundamental de estos.
