Environment Secretary Steve Reed apologises to farmers for tax 'shock' Environment Secretary Steve Reed says any farms going bust now has "nothing to do with" inheritance tax changes, but because the sector isn't profitable.

This apology means nothing unless the Environment Secretary is prepared to listen to MPs like me who really understand family farmers and the countryside.

He needs to persuade the Treasury to change this policy now.
