In Feb 2026 they designated H.245 as being subjected to a “study order” which is reportedly a common strategy to kill bills

They want to keep zapping autistic kids when misbehaving & don’t care about the trauma they are causing

For over ten years the Judge Rotenberg Center in MA has housed Autistic people & utilizes wearable electric shock devices to control dangerous behaviors

Children are zapped for things like swearing

Time for the Governor, state of MA & Joint Committee on Children, Families & Persons w/ Disabilities to seize the opportunity & sign H.245 into law

Realizing now (thanks to a friend) a BIG REASON this has been allowed to continue is because the JRC houses approximately 54 individuals from multiple states

So, even if you’re not in Massachusetts, YOUR REPS MAY have some responsibility to this issue

I worked psych in a prison, we didn’t shock the most violent (read: vulnerable) patients & things went pretty excellently all things considered

There is no excuse besides ego, and it’s time we all draw a line

Will shock treatment finally be banned? - The Boston Globe The fact that autistic students are still being shocked at the Judge Rotenberg Educational Center is unconscionable.

I wrote about this in my book and the Boston Globe: The FDA under the first Trump administration tried to ban it, but a court blocked it. Congress gave the FDA authority to ban it in the 2022 ominbus spending bill. Activists have tried to #StopTheShock for years.
