Happy #kidlitartpostcard day! I'm Jessie, a children's book writer and illustrator seeking representation. I am really excited about all that is in store for 2026. This month I am doing a 1st draft writing frenzy to complete the #storystorm challenge founded by @taralaser This will mean 31 first drafts that I can work from as I develop more polished manuscripts. And some of these first drafts are coming from the illustrations I create for art challenges here on Instagram! I focus on filling my work with whimsy and joy... we could use a little more of that in today's world. All my illustrations are hand drawn, inked, and painted with watercolor. When I'm not writing or illustrating, I love gardening, reading historical fiction and murder mysteries, listening to jazz on vinyl, and spending time with my husband and the real life Rosie the Scottish Terrier.
