The screen is covered in fig leaves of many shades of green as the sunlight shines through them. The slender brown branches don't seem strong enough to support all those leaves, but they do.

Looking upwards through the fig tree, with its long, slender branches, and dreaming of ripe figs.

Twisted, curved limbs of a live oak tree reaching towards the light blue sky. Its canopy of light green leaves filter and soften the glaring sunlight.

Three quarters snapped wooden food skewer that has feathered and folded giving an almost Pampas grass look to the snapped ends. On a wood laminate worktop.
#SundayPixWood. Just snapped this wooden skewer to put it in the little vin and it did this rather pretty break
A knotty branch of wood with swirls and swoops and very disturbed flow of the wood. I find it rather lovely.
Close up of the cut surface of a large tree trunk with a big crack running the radius of it at the front of the picture.
A piece of tree art from a local outdoor festival. A female looking wicker body, missing arms and feet tied onto the upper trunk of a tree.
A dark wooden carving of an armadillo, with lovely speckled skin texture and scales. He stands on a low mound also textured to look like grass.
#SundayPixWood I bought this armadillo in Kenya, 36 years ago. I carried him round in my backpack for a month. He’s very old. He was the only armadillo in the shop full of carvings, the owner had no idea how it had got there, armadillos are not indigenous to Kenya. He’s one of my most loved objects.
Mostly bare trees, darkened silhouettes on grasses and ferns. The ground is lumpy from a combination of tree roots and rabbit warrens. In the mid distance is a simple fence, beyond that the ground is white with snow/ ice, and further away a denser wood which looks light brown in mid-morning winter sunlight.
#SundayPix #SundayPixWood This is woodlands near where I grew up, taken in early January 2022.
A wooden finger post similar to the ones used to mark public footpaths. It’s in a sea of nettles and goose grass. The lettering says Crumpwood farm. It’s in the #ChurnetValley #Staffordshire and is on one of my regular weekend dog walks.
A hand painted wooden sign attached to a tree. I know it says ‘Crumpwood farm’. Although it’s difficult to tell now as brambles, nettles & ivy are growing up and around it. The only wording visible says ‘rump farm’

The new sign and the old sign. I feel the old sign has more charm than the new sign. It probably makes life easier for online shopping deliveries though. The local posty will know where it is though.
