Book Cliffs bison management plan approved; Bitter Creek herd target increased to ~250 The RAC approved the Book Cliffs Bison Management Plan after staff described herd dynamics and coordination with local permittees and tribal stakeholders. DWR told the RAC the Bitter Creek herd target (~250 animals) came from a landowner/permittee recommendation and is intended to spread animals across more terrain and improve hunter opportunity.

The Northern RAC has officially approved a bold plan to boost the Bitter Creek bison herd to 250, paving the way for sustainable growth and improved hunting opportunities!
