From Java to #Sunderland for #bikeventures ride down a lost railway line trail from Sunderland to #hartlepool the #disusedrailwayline trails look visually similiar to other #sustrans trails in northern #england . From the days of coal mining . Closed by beeching. One I’d like to ride in 2026 ♥️🚲

Here in the uk #sustrans have been instrumental for years in the development of shared paths bike riders can use. Such as disused railway lines. They have changed their name to #walk,wheelandcycle after a consultation. I think it’s a good one. As cyclists we should respect the paths are shared ❤️🚲🚶♂️🏇
The sculpture was designed by Andrew Rowe, and takes inspiration fron the nautical and industrial heritage of his native Swansea. The rather striking paintwork was designed by Impact Arts and was done in 2022.

#HaringeyCouncil removing London bollards on #Sustrans #CS1 and installing foot high pipes across the cycleway - to enable ICE vehicles. No warning for cyclists stating 'traffic conditions have changed ahead' like for ICE traffic. I did not see them and crashed. Broken arm will never be the same.
A programme to repaint as many of the mile posts as possible began in 2021, with each one being painted in its own unique way.
