Some yellow flowers are blooming on the edge of a stream. The plant is called Swamp Candles. This is a native perennial plant with spikes of yellow flowers that appear in July and August. It is found in wetland habitats, such as marshes and bogs. I photographed these plants on a boardwalk through a wetland at the Paul Smiths VIC, a nature preserve in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York.

A bright yellow flower – Swamp Candles – is growing in a little wetland on the edge of a pond. Swamp Candles (Lysimachia terrestris) produces yellow flowers in summer. It grows in swamps, bogs, and other wetlands in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York.
