Linhardt shifted in his sleep, rolling closer until his chest pressed lightly against Caspar's. Their lips hovered a breath apart. A hum escaped Linhardt's lips, startling Caspar, and then his body began to tremble, and his breath quickened. Caspar sat upright, brushing the plastered hair from Linhardt's forehead and lips, cupping his face with his hand, and leaning closer—and closer—toward his lips. "Sylvain…" Linhardt whispered a name that wasn't his own against his lips.

Temptation enveloped him, pulsing, growing. “Can I kiss you?” “Hmm?” Linhardt took Sylvain's hands, which were still resting on his cheeks. “Can I kiss you, Linhardt?” whispered the margrave, his voice trembling. “I would die to kiss you right now...” Linhardt licked his lips in anticipation. Sylvain finally gave in.
