In the lower left corner are a group of San Antonians hurling tacos across the canvas at the Austinites. The Spurs Coyote is launching one from a cannon he holds like a t-shirt cannon. And a man in the center is splashing green salsa at the closest person from Austin. Austin folk are in the lower right corner in hipster get ups. A girl on a vespa is chased by a giant Puffy Taco mascot and a green pepper dressed like Davy Crockett. It symbolizes the Great Breakfast Taco War when, in 2016, Austin claimed to be Home of the breakfast taco. They were wrong. We won the ensuing “war” which ended with Austin chefs not showing up to the competition (held in Austin)
I guess it’s a good day to share the piece i did for the city’s 300 year birthday arts celebration.
