I'm glad some labour folks showed up to the #TEUOnStrike action today, but honesty it was hard to listen to them pretend to give a shit about working people, when they fucking refused to do the most basic things to ensure everyone could feed their kids while they were actually in power.

Today's #TEUOnStrike action was empowering, full of solidarity and also ridiculously fun. I'm now covered in the righteous multicoloured chalk dust of union power.

…as Uli our TEU rep said, Massey is not broke. Our PVC Margaret Maile is overseeing a reduction of the college's space by about a third to cut costs (as uni space charges are huge). Yet it will cost $3.5 million+ to move us into a smaller footprint. That'll come from some magic fund! 🪄 #teuonstrike
I hope our docked pay goes to the lowly paid techs, support staff et al who deserve to be paid enough to scrape by #livingwageforall #teuonstrike…
Striking today for fair pay for all at Massey University. Our Chancellor Jan Thomas (salary half a mill $+) decided to suspend TEU/PSA members without pay for the duration. As I said yesterday, VC's pay for *four hours* equals a living wage for a week… #TEUonStrike #stopthecuts #TEU #tertiarysector
