In #TheBlackHole by #Disney the ship is the USS Cygnus. In 1979, when the movie was released, Cygus X-1, or Cygnus X-Ray anomaly one was the first candidate to be an actual Black Hole. It is, and is in the constellation Cygnus. Now you know.

Happy anniversary to Gary Nelson’s film ‘The Black Hole’. Released this week in theaters in 1979. This, & Steven Lisberger’s original ‘Tron’ film were both sadly ignored by most. The backstory on both films & how they were made are fascinating & WAY ahead of technology at the time. #TheBlackHole

Ate at Darkside last night, a place that serves up nostalgia right alongside some awesome pizza. THE BLACK HOLE is one of my childhood favorites that I still adore. So when I walked in and this was the first thing I saw... yeah. I knew this was the place for me.
