An in-ground garden bed in process of being renewed for spring: on a base of bark chips there's old dirt, covered by dried leaves & some dark brown compost.
Two garden beds with a chainlink fence covered in deep green English ivy. The beds are covered with dried leaves and then have piles of dark dirt on top of the leaves. The dirt is from upturned containers that had peppers, tomatoes, and eggplants growing in them last season.
The garden beds have been topped with new dark brown top soil and planted with a variety of things. There are white tags labeling different types of greens and carrots and several rows with the green tops of white and yellow onion starts poking out. We're watering in what's newly planted with a spray handle attached to a hose.

We chopped & dropped, added leaves, old dirt, compost, & new top soil to our garden beds, & planted a variety of greens, brassicas, onions, & carrots.
The sun even came out at the end.
