Identifies myofibroblasts as sources of tissue damaging enzymes (MMP1) in TB granuloma, probably responding to cytokine cues from nearby macrophages.

Quite clever how you can detect Mycobacterial antigens in extracellular vehicles in blood during asymptomatic TB.
Useful as biomarkers but maybe also to work out in vivo what are early / most abundant Mtb antigens produced.
