Teisco - Mosrite-style solid body electric guitar - 2 pickups sunburst. This guitar is a Japanese made, 1968, Teisco V2, Mosrite Ventures-style solid body electric guitar. The neck is straight and all the electronics work properly. It's in great shape; there's a few nicks but nothing significant. It has two very strong pickups that really give a Mosrite surf sound. The neck pickup is smooth, rich and full sounding while the bridge is twangy; together in the center position they've got a thick sound with a bit raspy twang. The neck is straight and all the electronics work properly. The whammy bar works well. It appears to be all original. This guitar was definitely one of the higher end Teisco; it plays and feels amazing. Description from VintageSilvertones.com

Silvertone Bass - Beatles violin shaped, 2 pickups, sunburst finish, made in Japan circa 1966. This is a Silvertone bass made in Japan circa 1966. We believe it was manufactured by Greco, but it could have been made by Teisco. It is a copy of the 1961 Hofner 500/1 violin shaped bass made popular by Paul McCartney of The Beatles in the 1960's. This Silvertone is a very close replica to the original Hofner, maybe the closest we have seen and it is very rare. It is a fully bound, hollow body guitar featuring a sunburst finish, a white raised pickguard with a wooden finger rest, two pickups with black plastic surrounds, a white plastic plate on which the controls are mounted, a two way adjustable, rosewood and metal bridge, a trapeze style tailpiece and two metal strap pins. This Silvertone bass is very lightweight which is great for carrying and gigging. It also has a great tone and plays wonderfully. It comes with an original case which has some wear. Teisco - EP-10T hollow body electric guitar - 2pickups sunburst. This guitar is a 1966, Teisco EP-10T, thinline, hollow body electric guitar with a sunburst finish that was made in Japan. The neck is straight and all the electronics work properly. It's in near mint condition; the only thing that makes it not mint is one very minor finish crack on the back and some factory blemishes in the finish; otherwise it's virtually brand new. The guitar was owned by one person who took meticulous care of it. He said it was played very little over the years and it sure shows! It was purchased from a "Leeds" store in Florida in 1966. Leeds was later purchased by the Service Merchandise chain. Description from VintageSilvertones.com

The pickups have six different setting combinations. There's toggle button for "rhythm" and "solo"; which give either a twangy (rhythm) tone or full sound (solo). They can be used in conjunction with the individual pickups or with both together. So this guitar is capable of a very broad range of tones. The whammy bar works well. It plays and feels amazing. It has a laminated neck with adjustable truss rod, steel reinforced neck, triple-plated chrome hardware, the pickups have laminated poles, a roller-bridge, and whammy bar. The serial number is 25xxxx. It comes with the original chipboard case shown below. Description from VintageSilvertones.com

Teisco also made many of the Silvertone guitars from 1965-1970. If you'd like more information on Teisco guitars check out the TeiscoTwangers web site.

Silvertone-Teisco model #ET-460/K4L, solid body, electric guitar with 4 pickups This is a 1967, metal-flake blue, Silvertone, solid body, electric guitar made for Sears by Teisco of Japan. The Teisco model numbers are ET-460 or K4L but I haven't been able to locate the actual Sears catalog model number. It has four pickups with many different combinations of controls to attain a large variety of tones. The bridge pickup by itself is super hot and surf rock sounding; it cranks! There's on and off switches for each pickup and a "rhythm" and "solo" control which basically makes the sound brighter or more muted. The Rhythm and Solo switch works fine but it clicks in more than the notched positions. It gets a little scratchy when changing positions though. Description from VintageSilvertones.com

The guitar is in good shape but does have several nicks and scratches. Someone touched up the nicks so it's got a pretty serious vintage vibe going on. The neck has also been sanded down. The whammy bar/tremolo works great! The guitar is completely original except for two replacement screws that hold up the bridge. It has an adjustable truss rod. This Silvertone is a totally fun guitar to play. It's clean enough for a collector and rocks well for a player. Description from VintageSilvertones.com

Silvertone 1460 Teisco-made 2pu, red, hollow body electric guitar This guitar is a 1970, Silvertone, thinline, hollow body electric guitar with a red finish that was made in Japan. The guitar is completely original (including the bridge cover which is almost always missing on these models) and includes the original chipboard case. It has a nice set of tuners that work very well. The neck pickup up is full sounding with a slight tinge of brightness. The bridge pickup is very bright and twangy. The action is set medium-fast. Overall, the guitar is quite beautiful. The one drawback is the neck has a slight relief and the truss rod has been adjusted as far as it will go. Description from VintageSilvertones.com

The guitar was made in Japan by Teisco. Although, the interesting thing to note is there's a stamp inside the body that says "S-70, Made In USA." So it's possible this is one of the last Kay bodies made in the US and then shipped overseas for final assembly. Teisco bought Kay in the late 60's. It's also strange that the guitar is generally called a 1475 in the Sears catalogs yet this one is labeled 1460. Description from VintageSilvertones.com
