This is my only entry into this year's Teletext Advent Calendar, but check page 832 in Yle's Teletext every day for new #TeletextArt until January 6, or check it out online on Yle's website!
On the snowy countryside, a polar bear looks off to the side with a pensive expression on their face, while a snowman sits by a country road with a top hat on its head, pebbles for eyes and a carrot for a nose. The image is signed "T G H exclamation point, 2024".
The previous image with the grid and control codes made visible, revealing its technical details. The snowflakes in the sky are rendered with alternating "separated" and "contiguous" mosaics. To transition from the white-on-blue snowflakes to the blue-on-black outlined sky on lines where a portion of the shape of the outline is included in a character space, the artist sets the foreground to blue, enters a solid block character, then executes the "Hold Mosaic" command so that the subsequent commands to "Change Background to Black" and "Release Mosaic" will be displayed as that solid blue block character instead of a blank space.
As broadcast yesterday on Yle Text in Finland: "Pensive Winter", my entry into the 2024 #Teletext #AdventCalendar! Grid/control code view included, as this piece is more technically complex than it first appears!

It's designed to be a fully featured text editor for making "proper content", but a lot of people mainly use it for #TeletextArt and it has features to support that too, like a photo tracing mode.

Page 700 from my Teletext service, Nemetext, entitled TrekkieText (as it is a Star Trek themed section). Date shown as 2410.29 (date in a format which is a nod to Star Trek's stardates) Pixel artwork of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D from Star Trek: The Next Generation, against a starry background.
