For my #ChunkyFringe livestreams this year, I once again used a Smarty data-only SIM in a 4G router from AliExpress, and once again...it...just...worked!
Rarely does technology behave so well, but it really was insert SIM, activate on app...minutes later...internet!

Feeling at a loose end now that #ChunkyFringe is done and all the TVs are packed way until the next event, so I went picking at an old scab, and figured out how to process a hidden internal channel 4 teletext service called IDENT from a file that's been lurking on my hard drive since 2021 👀

They won't all necessarily be on the same tripod at #ChunkyFringe, but my OBSBOT Tiny 4K impressed me so much at #Teletext50 last year, that I decided I wanted two for the next event...and then I went a bit overboard...

A few years ago, I found a random reference to a one-off teletext get-together that had happened even more years prior, where updates had been beamed to a few venues using TVs which had been adapted to receive teletext via the internet. "That's so cool," I thought, "I didn't know you could even do that!" And so began a journey down a rabbit hole of nostalgia. There were VBITs and inserters and packet data and teletext recovery from VHS?! Fastext links for 'Zine 1 (red), Nemboozle! (green), Twitch (yellow), Gigs (blue).
My recollections from jumping on the #teletext bandwagon in 2023, after missing out on the comeback event in 2022 due to uni, relieved that I hadn't missed my last chance.
And if all goes to plan, I'll be back in Harrow this Saturday for #ChunkyFringe 2025!

When I said I'd taken Twitch streamer (and variants) off my social media bios, I never said there'd never be another stream from me ever again.
For one, I'm hoping to stream from #ChunkyFringe soon!
It's just taken the pressure off it being part of my identity, and helping make dabbling fun again.
