As #IncidentalMusic for #TheatreProse play (bad), we know from sources #Thamos was in general badly performed both 1774 & 1776 so that often music was omitted! Here we have rare description of orchestra used 1774!

For some scholars #Thamos final version we've today premiered 3 Jan 1776! BUT for #Gardiner in 1776 2 choruses were old 1773 ones: in 1776 only addition of Interludes! Just few know #Gardiner was grandson of famous Egyptologist #AGardiner!

1774 is year of #Mozart #Thamos Premiere in Vienna... but it was only 2 chorus. in old version revised in 1776, you find in this CD!
