Starting to read John Green's "The Anthropocene Reviewed" for my language and composition class. I've been looking forward to it all year. Need to get my hands on a copy of "Everything is Tuberculosis" when I can. #johngreen #theanthropocenereviewed #everythingistuberculosis #books

Also, John’s visit to #BromleyFC earlier this year gave us a perfectly wonderful video essay. It feels like a video episode of #TheAnthropoceneReviewed in the best way possible.

Sitting here reading #TheAnthropoceneReviewed very much enjoying it, and suddenly remembering that I could randomly bump into @johngreensbluesky.bsky.social at any moment now that I live & work in Indy. Probably won't happen, but makes me feel good that it could. This book makes me glad to be human

My Reading Project 2025: #theanthropocenereviewed - Scratch 'n' Sniff stickers. As I read this chapter/review, I could only think of my favorite smell, Petrichor. And also of dogs being able to tell if someone was a terminator from smell, because AI got the smell wrong.

My Reading Project 2025: #theanthropocenereviewed - Lascaux Cave Paintings. Preservation is a hard thing. so much of what we hold on to are things we use to hold on to other things or ideas or feelings.

My Reading Project 2025: #theanthropocenereviewed - Our Capacity for Wonder.
I still have not read the Great Gatsby, I doubt that I will. So many things gain popularity with a wide distribution or repeated presentations. My take away is that I need to go out and to the work that awe requires.

My Reading Project 2025: #theanthropocenereviewed - "Halley's Comet" - more thoughts. Halley's theory on a 2nd smaller earth inside earth only makes him cooler in my mind even if I know it's totally not possible. I wonder what other units of time could help us like a Halley (~75 years) could work.

My Reading Project 2025: #theanthropocenereviewed - "Halley's Comet" - of course this essay sent me back to 1986. I had at least 3 Hally's Comet t-shirts and I still didn't get a good look at it. I too hope to live long enough to see it again. I wonder about Halley not keeping his name consistent.

My Reading Project 2025: #theanthropocenereviewed - "Humanity's Temporal Range" - interesting thinking about worlds ending all the time. Loved the quote about never predicting the end of the world. Thought about the #parksandrecreation cult that moved their end to fit the park schedule.

My Reading Project 2025:
#theanthropocenereviewed - essay "You'll Never Walk Alone" Funny that I have heard this song but not until I read this essay and then pulled up the song online and watch both the Gerry & the Pacemaker's version and one of the Liverpool fans singing did I really hear it.

My Reading Project 2025: #theanthropocenereviewed thoughts and notes from my read of the introduction continued. I like that idea of reviews as a memoir of one's experience with something. While this project of mine isn't a review it is a way of sharing my experience with the book.

My Reading Project 2025: #theanthropocenereviewed thoughts and notes from my read of the introduction continued. in the Anthropocene "there are no disinterested observers, there are only participants." insightful thought and it can be said of other things that we try to avoid.

My Reading Project 2025: #theanthropocenereviewed thoughts and notes from my read of the introduction. Labyrinthitis is scary but still makes me think of the Goblin King. "Disease" have I really gone this long without seeing that it is dis ease? comes from old French and is very much not at ease.

I don't usually do resolutions but I have promised myself to get through a stack of books I've accumulated over past 5 or more years. I've just lost touch with reading. First up is John Green's "The Anthropocene Reviewed" I'll be posting thoughts here on bluesky. #theanthropocenereviewed
