#TheChildrenAct is right in the mix for worst film I have seen this year. Ian McEwan’s script is appalling. The central relationship between Thompson and Tucci is utterly bizarre; improbable. It looks so ugly, so televisual too. #Film2018

No surprise here, but Emma Thompson is mesmerizing in the Ian McEwan adaptation of #TheChildrenAct. Too bad the rest of the movie is such a melodramatically forgettable slog.

The genius of Emma Thompson should never be dismissed, understated or forgotten about. Just wish I liked #TheChildrenAct more than I sadly did. Even so, she’s still mesmerizing. Just incredible.
