"Look, is Iago here or not? That's all I need to know."

"Who the fuck's supposed to be Iago?" The kid wrinkled his broad nose up at him. It'd be adorable if it wasn't for the murder-glare in his eyes.

Arturo didn't keep the irritation out of his voice. "It's his henchname; I don't know what his actual-"

"No one here's going by a Henchname of Iago." The boy sneered. Then straightened up with a twitch and, with a voice that'd slightly lilted upwards, "Or even has a Henchname. Whatever a Henchname might be. I definitely don't know. What even are those?"

Even at his drunkest, Arturo wouldn't have bought it. The kid also wasn't doing himself any favors by pronouncing a word Arturo had always thought of as lowercase with a very obvious verbal Important Word uppercase either. He fucking sucked at lying.

"We only started yesterday," Arturo said, massaging the throbbing ache in his temples, "he's barely had it twelve hours. Look, can I just-" he started forward, but was forced to a stop when the kid shoved the head of the bat into his gut with a surprising amount of force for someone his size.

"Yeah, nah." The boy puffed himself up like a pigeon defending a stray french fry and all but growled. "You're getting the fuck out of here is what you're doing, buddypal." The bat didn't move from Arturo's gut.

"The fuck I am." Arturo grabbed the bat's head, avoiding the nails, and pulled it to the side. "I'm staying right the hell here until I either talk with Iago or someone tells me where he is."
