This was an absolute joy to read. My kinda story. Rich family history, the setting is a character, almost gothic, psychologically rich and sensitive.

Ann Patchett has become my newest favorite author. Read #BelCanto years ago and loved it. Have recently finished listening to #TheDutchHouse and #TomLake. Simply gorgeous writing. And Hanks' and Streep's narrations are... chef's kiss.
