This is part two of a six-part series. That doesn't mean you should leave me with that ending, ladies! Really? That was mean. 😡 (This is my best pouting emoji.) River (Rose, Skittles, Psyche) Fox continues to lead an interesting life. This isn't a traditional romance as she's an escort and hasn't met her one... yet. I love that we get to see her personal and professional lives. I like Nathaniel (Candy Aisle Guy / CAG) Reed, even if he has secrets of his own. He definitely removed himself from friend zone territory and is proving to be quite the companion! 🥵🌶🔥 Things get primal and downright naughty. Not only do I love the heat level, but I also love how River is able to let go and live in the moment. -- Book quote 'Naïve Rose disappeared the night a square patch of her skin was peeled off by a fucking psycho.' -- River Fox There are some dark elements. It bears repeating: this isn't a safe book, nor is it a traditional romance. There's plenty of dirty fun, several kinks, and a few crossed lines. My opinions from book one of Kai Briggs solidify. I like the new client, Elijah Duke. My heart goes out to anyone in that situation, and how it concludes is inspiring. The psycho? Yeah, I would've been OK not having him show up, but it is part of her journey. Until the next installment.... I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators are Ryan Lee Dunlap and Kallestra Spencer. They were really easy to listen to. The book just flew by thanks to good writing and narration. Story: 4.5 stars Narration: 4 stars Listening Speed: 1.8x
