Oh God, that was fucking awful. What even was that ending? #TheKillingTree

I don't usually complain about movies devolving into CGI battles in their climaxes, but I absolutely will complain when that means a terrible CGI fight between the evil Christmas tree and a good one that just appeared as a deus ex machina. #TheKillingTree

The tree just made a reference to Bane's "I was born in the darkness" line. They had no idea what they were doing with this idea, did they? #TheKillingTree

Man, this movie had potential and you can see it in every scene where the tree is a guy in a not-very-good costume shuffling around. That stuff is great fun!

But they ruined it by inexplicably having the tree turn into a giant CGI monster and then back to the suit. #TheKillingTree

OK, so the tree kills someone dressed as Christmas cracker by pulling them in two. However, the joke is kind of ruined by the fact that it already killed someone else the same way a scene earlier. Say what you want about the Jack Frost movies, they were more creative than this. #TheKillingTree

The first two killings are disappointing because the tree just suddenly sprouts bad CGI tentacles to kill people. It's not until the third victim, strangled with its ambulatory string lights, that it finally does something that takes advantage of the premise. #TheKillingTree
