I discovered the #English practice of #WifeSelling when I read of a #ThomasHardy selling his wife in #Stamford. They celebrated with dinner and friends at a nearby hostelry. I’d never heard of #TheMayorOfCasterbridge or its author. This is a great book on ordinary people fixing broken systems.
