The Shits Interview: Leeds Noise-Rock and the Making of Diet of Worms on Rocket Recordings On Tarrare, pathological consumption, and lyrics written intuitively Transmission 334: Interview with The Shits The Shits formed in Leeds in 2017, built from the start around an explicit debt to Brainbombs. The band's lineup has shifted across geography since then, with members spread between Leeds, Newcastle, and London, but the base remains West Yorkshire. Diet of Worms, their second LP on Rocket Recordings, follows You're A Mess and is due for release on April 3. Seven of its eight tracks were recorded live in the room. The band cites Drunk in Hell alongside the Stooges and Brainbombs as primary reference points, and their live sets have moved progressively further into confrontation since the group's first gig, when they introduced themselves as better than the Stooges.

The Shits announce Diet Of Worms LP on Rocket Recordings New single Thank You For Being A Friend by The Shits The Shits have released Thank You For Being A Friend, the second track taken from their upcoming LP Diet Of Worms. Due April 3 via Rocket Recordings, the album follows the Leeds-based quintet’s 2023 release You’re A Mess. The record consists of eight tracks built on rhythmic attrition and vocal invective, recorded by a lineup that migrated from Newcastle-upon-Tyne to the West Yorkshire DIY circuit. Featured image: Noah Ringrose Vocalist Callum Howe frames the band's current output as a byproduct of aimless transit through the streets of West Yorkshire, citing a lack of alternative occupation as the primary driver for the group's continued activity.
