I have an annual game, casting the film adaptation of #TheSpire in my head but I now no longer have to worry: I really think John Heffernan's voice is the perfect vehicle for Jocelin. And if it did get filmed, he would be a no-brainer.

Started listening to #TheSpire yesterday and (read so well) it reminds me why I rate it so highly: the writing is as complex and mighty as its subject, the characters that swirl around Jocelin are defined by his blinkered worldview before the scales fall from his eyes. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/serie...

Ditto, though I haven't re-read in 40 years. Saw a so-so stage adaptation; constantly producing and casting a TV adaptation in my head. Wonder if a work about absolute certainty and defying/denying the real world still works in 2025... #TheSpire

Never understood why it was located in #Brighton, have never had the urge to pay £21 to get an aerial view of the city, or the immediate coastline, to be honest.
