The Winds of War, by Mosha Winter - Broken Binding edition. Simply stunning. I like ‘em big, I like ‘em chunky. Perfect. 👌🏻

Appropriate this week. Mom had a copy of 1971’s #TheWindsofWar I first read as a teen. (I also watched the 1983 miniseries. Have the DVDs now.) Saw years ago critics weren’t kind to it, but it was a huge seller. It’s #historicalfiction about mostly Americans in Europe from 1939-41. #5amWritersClub

Front cover of Herman Wouk, “The Winds of War,” 1971 (2013 UK new edition). Photo is of a soldier, back to the camera, standing on a runway, with four fighter planes about to pass over his head.

There was a time when our USA was (with all its faults and some big exceptions, of course), generally speaking, “the good guys.” #historicalfiction #WWII #history #HermanWouk #TheWindsOfWar
