UK could use lasers to protect military bases While the MOD acknowledged the importance of DEWs in base defence, they declined to provide specific details about their use in protecting military installations.

Having lived under protection of Counter Rocket, Artillery & Mortar (C-RAM) systems, it will be interesting to see if such protection will indeed be provided by Directed Energy Weapons in the future and what the impact will be on the Force Protection Engineering of bases.
