This Christmas tree, crafted from the worn pointe shoes of Queensland Ballet dancers, is a breathtaking masterpiece that redefines tradition. Each shimmering gold shoe evokes memories of my childhood ballet days, a refuge from the abuse I faced at home. Every pirouette, every jeté, dances vividly in my mind, mirroring the passion and dedication embodied in each shoe. A nutcracker soldier, clad in red, white, blue, and gold, stands guard, exuding festive cheer and watchful pride. This unconventional festive symbol, a tribute to artistry and grace, enchants all who behold it. I imagine my new rescue cat, Badger, with his charming black and white tuxedo, weaving playfully amongst the golden shoes. His bright eyes, full of curiosity, and his unwavering obsession with my feet and shoes, would make him the perfect admirer of this tree – although he might be disappointed by the lack of familiar scents! Together, Badger and I could tolerate such a tree, celebrating the beauty of dance and the heartwarming companionship we share.
