Small stars still shine,
a silver burst of sureness
threaded through the dark,
a reminder to look up,
to let in, to linger
in the night air
if only to see the beauty
that dances amid the doubt,
how hope burns
without apology,
how you can name it,
but only if you seek it out.

The storm breaks,
& the calm sings out
like a lark, a reminder
that beauty often recovers itself,
that hope exists in any language,
that change comes for us all
in the end,
but you have made it this far,
& all your worst days behind you,
every storm a memory,
& every memory
a light.
