Looking across a snow covered grassy pasture, clumps of grass covered with sticky snow making lumps and mounds. Some distance away a small group of cattle are grazing, mostly black with a few red/mixed colour. Farther back, the field ends with a fence then an area with low shrubby willows in front of a raised line of railroad track. The wetland area continues on the other side with more willows, taller birches and tamaracks of various sizes and much larger poplars and spruce behind. All are coated in snow, and the sun filtered through uneven cloud with bits of blue sky and recently lifted fog patches has silvered the whole scene.
Looking from the moving car up a two lane highway, looking dark and somewhere between wet and frosty.To each side, grassy snow covered ditches rise into undergrowth and a wall of dense tree, small to medium size, mostly tamarack with most of their needles fallen, a few dark spruce mixed in. All are coated in snow. The sky seen ahead up the road, and above is a mix of blue and strips and patches of gently fluffy slowly dispersing clouds, light to medium grey with coral highlights from the recent sunrise.
These shots are just from the car on a morning trip into town for some errands that are hard to get done on work days; there were tons of beautiful images from the rest of the day at home and in the bush too! #Alberta #winter #TimeOfSpirits #October #GoOutsideForMe #landscape #weather 📷🌄
A cloud shadowed grassy snow covered pasture shows bits of gold where the snow is thinner or grass clumps are taller. Farther back is a faintly seen fence, another field/pasture and a thin patch of mixed woods- dark spruce and bare poplars, all coated in snow. Through the trees and to each side of the patch, we can see another snowy field and in the distance more woodland. Post sunrise gold sky can be seen above the horizon interrupted with strips and banks of blue-grey cloud and snatches of blue sky. The clouds are highlighted with gold coral from the recently risen sun.
Looking from the moving car up a two land highway, looking dark and somewhere between wet and frosty.It's a little foggy and a little overcast, the whole scene a bit silvery and a bit blurred, with bands of ground fog visible to the sides in places and across the road in the distance. Several vehicles approach on the other side of the road, with a large truck in front, all with headlights on in the morning gloom. To the sides are snow covered fields and pastures, a row of power poles following the road on the left, and at various points in the distance, clumps of mixed trees- dark spruce and bare poplars, all lightly snow coated. Just below the horizon a thicker bank of cloud obscures the land all but a hint of distant forest and foothills, with cloud hiding the mountains at the horizon.
It's been beautiful out for days in various ways- colours, light, weather- as the seasons shift. Today was extra crazy beautiful- with our first really noticeable #snow of the year (late!), #fog #sun #cloud #Alberta #winter #TimeOfSpirits #October #GoOutsideForMe #landscape #weather📷 🌄
