I am simultaneously exhausted and highly caffeinated. I can't tell if I have perfect focus or absolutely none at all.

I've been staring at Scrivener and having lots of thoughts, but I haven't typed anything for half an hour.

This is writing, right?

A pic of the one side of the house where ivy grows. I just 'paced' it: it's about 23 metres of ivy-ed wall.
This year I cut everything a bit below the gutter. Last year I did it a bit above the gutter but that encouraged the younger vines below too much. Even halfway through the summer you could no longer see I had done any cutting.

I thinned it out quite a bit too, this time, so here's hoping it won't end up as a glorious mess again... but it is ivy.

Pic of the path along the ivy wall, to show that I also cleared that. Not perfectly but well enough for me (and the cat!)

Loose slabs of natural stone are laid on the path. It was almost all that was left from laying the terrace floor.
Again, not perfect but it works for me.

That path leads (around the house) to the guest apartment. I have two or three months to think of something I can do with the rest of the path.

That's what lay on the path after today's four last (20-minute) cutting sessions. I just dumped it on the other side of the hedge that runs along the other side of the path. It's a biggish pile.

This is where I will carry today's pile to (tomorrow! I'm done for today.) It is evidently a much bigger pile, since it is the result of three earlier days of ivy-cutting work.

I'm too lazy-tired to go step-measure the distance between the piles but it should be around 50 metres. It id much closer to the front gate anyway.

Jesus wept. That was a lot of work; and then I really have a thing about height + ladders.

It's done though for this year, bar the schlepping of today's pile of cut vines & dead shit to the much bigger mount much closer to the gate, but that's for tomorrow!
