My friend Joe first tried getting me into #Genesis by playing their older prog stuff, which I just wasn't into at all at the time. Eventually, he give me "3 Sides Live", and that was ultimately what hooked me in.

A dark blue box, with "Les Miserables" in large text towards the bottom, and "A musical by Alain Boubil & Claude-Michel Schonberg" in smaller font below. The heart of the image is of a young girl, in black and white. Her tattered hair is being blown by the wind under her small cap. Behind, a French flag is seen, and set up in a way that the tatters of the flag meld with her hair.
A few weeks ago, I mentioned that #PinkFloyd's "The Wall" was a regular student selection during our weekend stage crew work, back in high school. #LesMiserables was similarly an every-week faculty selection, and it became something I loved, and still do.

There were 5 albums that I labeled as my #TopPickDiscs.
But I'd also like to call out #ArethaFranklin "Live at Fillmore West". That album is so good; it has so much life and groove; it's amazing.
I also want to call out both the early music, and the disco era from #TheBeeGees; fantastic music!
A white background has lines drawn to make it appear as a wall of white bricks.
My recollection is that "The Wall" was my first full album introduction to #PinkFloyd.
As I said a while back with "Dark Side of the Moon", I knew the songs played on the radio, but not much more.

Everyone's mileage will vary, so this album may not speak to you as much as it does me. But yeah, I think A Trick of the Tail could be my favorite from their studio collection. And even if it won't be yours it's definitely worth a listen, and then another.

Entwistle's horn arrangements also play a significant role in this album, bringing so much to the mix; I love how those are worked in. And of course I love the two big instrumental pieces: Quadrophenia and The Rock. But the whole album is great, and another of my #TopPickDiscs
Album cover for The Who's Tommy. A sky-blue lattice, with clouds and birds covers a black background. A few of the black spaces within the lattice depict a figure, trying to reach out.
I'm not going post about every album from every band I love. Sometimes, I might only highlight 1 or 2 albums that really stand out for me. "Tommy" from #TheWho is definitely one of those standout albums, and one of the #TopPickDiscs from my collection.
