Hoffman and McCaig claim doubles as sprinters are drawn to Japanese keirin's siren call Leigh Hoffman and Alessia McCaig complete sprint doubles with victory in the keirin at the national track championships, with Hoffman eyeing a chance to one day compete in the lucrative Japanese keiri...

Great wins for Leigh Hoffman and Alessia McCaig in the keirin last night.

With Japanese professional keirin opening up to foreign riders for the first time since COVID, you’d have to think both riders would be high on the list for a possible invite if they keep their form high.

Another great night, with two thrilling keirin races and two immensely tactical scratch races.

Track cycling again tonight… Good crowd too.

Great to see some rainbow bands on the boards as well.

How her medical degree gives Sophie Edwards balance and focus on the bike Sophie Edwards somehow manages to balance completing a medical degree with bike racing at the top level on both the road and the track. And it seems she's getting better than ever.

Sophie Edwards is in career best cycling form - crushing it in the ProVelo Super League and claiming the individual pursuit title on the track.

That’s despite being in the third year of a gruelling medical degree.

It’s a good job she’s comfortable being busy.

The last two races I’ve seen Sophie Edwards compete in, one on the road, the other on the track, have been won by Sophie Edwards.

She’s riding better than ever.

And she has her signs set on the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

From domestique to dominance: Conor Leahy nabs 10th national crown Fresh from helping Oliver Bleddyn to overall victory in the ProVelo Super League on the road, Olympic champion Conor Leahy turned from domestique to dominant victor as he claimed a sixth Australian in...

It was a real pleasure to chat to Olympic champions and Team Brennan teammates Ollie Bleddyn and Conor Leahy last night about the challenge of shifting from the road to the track in the space of a couple of days.

Congratulations to Conor as well on a 10th national title on the boards.

Absolutely stunning performance from
Conor Leahy.

Lapping Ollie Bleddyn and then setting a new national record of 4:04.062 in the 4,000m individual pursuit.

It’s his sixth national title in the event since 2020.

Kai Sakakibara wins national title on return to two wheels Just over five years since Kai Sakakibara almost lost his life in a BMX crash at the World Cup event in Bathurst, the 28-year-old is back on the bike, claiming a national title at the Australian Track...

I had the absolute pleasure of talking to Kai Sakakibara yesterday about his hopes for the future after making a winning debut at #TrackNats just five years after almost losing his life in a BMX crash.

He’s an inspirational guy and it is going to be exciting to see how he goes.

Is there a more heart warming story in sport than that of Kai Sakakibara’s return?

Five years after his life-threatening BMX crash, he’s back on the bike - this time on the track - and last week became the C1 National kilo champion.

Best story by far out of #TrackNats.
