Standing on North Beach looking back at the lush temperate rainforest on Tow Hill. There are tire tracks on the beach, which is long and flat, tides move quickly as we will find out in a couple of hours. The North Pacific Ocean wraps around, and behind me to a point on the island where the open water meets the even less forgiving, Hecate Strait. On this day blue skies and a gentle breeze, a day earlier "sideways" rain in spectacular fashion and volume.
