Here's a small running session of the Locomotive I serviced a few days ago. It runs so nicely now. It's a shame that, due to the older thicker wheel flanges, it has such a hard time on points especially at slow speeds. You wouldn't think this loco was older than my busted A1. #modelrailway #Triang

This is a closeup on the wheels are running gear of the Flying Scotsman. Showing where a piece of plastic has snapped off the cylinders that would be used to hold some of the valve gear in place. This will need to be replaced.
An underneath shot of the model in my hand as I try to show where the front pickups have almost worn through from years of use. A large groove is cut into the pickups in the shape of the wheel flanges where they have worn out. These will ideally be replaced soon too.
I finally got around to servicing the first locomotive I bought, Flying Scotsman. It had never ran in my ownership and a good thing too, because it was filthy. It still doesn't run well and needs a lot of repairs before I can use it. Still not bad for £25 back in 2023. #modelrailway #Triang #Hornby

I was given this poor little GeeBee house or what was left of it. spruced it up with a lick of paint and some decoupage decor, added a new front and base and hey presto! it is back in the game.
