Left side of image is the book cover of THE WALLED CITY, fifth book of the Triempery Revelations series by L.L. Stephens. Cover is gray and white, with a lone man holding a sword looking at a distant fantastic city. Right side is a text excerpt from THE WALLED CITY. Some portions of the conversation are telepathic: Dorilian had tried, once or twice, to detect his enemy in the firmament and found only the slightest trace. Nammuor’s Diadem was alien to the Creation and in no way a part of it. Only Nammuor himself inhabited Leur’s work, and Nammuor’s presence was dark, infected, increasingly more shadow than substance. But Dorilian had heard enough rumor of Nammuor’s recent activities to know that he had to have used the Diadem’s powers to cause the Dazun to flood. If Nammuor had channeled that much power, he had to be weakened for now. The only question was for how long. You cannot face him. Levyathan’s worry was finite, familiar. I can. I will. I have the Rill. And the Wall? That depends on what happens at Stauberg. Dorilian withdrew from the contact and settled his mind. This day would see battle and he must be ready.
Today is Book Quote Wednesday and the word is FACE
Dorilian will have to face Nammuor and the Undying Crown in battle... some day. In THE WALLED CITY he contemplates that looming encounter.

Left side of image is text excerpt from THE KHELD KING, Book 2 of the Triempery Revelations series by L.L. Stephens. The snip describes series villain Nammuor performing sorcerous work. A drop of sweat trickled onto the upper lashes at the corner of Nammuor’s right eyelid, where it hung for a moment before sliding down into his eye. The resulting sharp sting pricked his awareness and he blinked. His focus wavered. On the verge of completion, the fine blue energy tube he had been creating between a pair of glowing blood crystals failed to stabilize; the thread of incandescence warped, expanded outward and disintegrated altogether. “Imbecile!” Removing his hands from the crystals and the glittering, red-jeweled Diadem on which he had been working, Nammuor turned in rage to confront the quivering acolyte at his feet. A dozen cloud-wort wands tipped with spun cotton dropped from the youth’s shaking hand to spread like accusing fingers on the obsidian floor. The youth had failed his only responsibility: keeping sweat out of the Master’s eyes. Right side of image is a meme for the month of March listing daily writing prompts for authors of fantasy fiction.
