Reflections on an Extraordinary Week for FGS at #TropMed25 As we wrap up 2025, we want to share one final reflection from #TropMed25. This year’s ASTMH meeting felt like a turning point for female genital schistosomiasis (FGS).

We're passionate about bridging gaps in FGS care to improve the lives of affected women and girls. We closed 2025 by aligning with partners on FGS priorities & are prepared for a pivotal 2026!

At #TropMed25, financing and access to NTD innovations were a key theme for Bridges. The donation model has taken us far, but sustainable access pathways are essential for the uptake of new innovations that will allow us to reach WHO’s NTD Roadmap 2030 control and elimination goals.

Shout out to Menzies’ Dr Sarah Cassidy-Seyoum for her oral presentation at #ASTMH2025. Her study on P. vivax case management in Cambodia showed that community follow-up by village malaria workers is feasible, accepted & key to elimination efforts. #TropMed25

Reminders Of What Our Losses From CDC And USAID Mean With the loss of USAID and much of CDC, our ability to respond to pandemics is at risk. Global health issues are a growing threat.

Proud of our Bridges interns at #TropMed25! 2025 interns both presented their master’s theses: Nikita on diabetes & lymphatic filariasis in India and Israel on adolescent boys’ attitudes toward menstruation in Ghana.
Grateful to reconnect with past interns too- the future of global health is bright!

Thought I'd reflect at the end of my first #TropMed25.

- Tons of implementation work. Which is fantastic, but not what I know much about!
- Really didn't feel like the AI hype is overtaking. Yes there was some, but you could easily spend a week here without hearing about it.
