Join partners of the FGS Integration Group as well as @giz.de @bmz.de today for a webinar on strengthening financing for Female Genital Schistosomiasis (FGS), which is essential to advancing women’s health, equity, and integrated NTD responses!
"Health is a right, not a privilege." -Bridges' new fellow, Dr Victoria Gamba, on her experience working with women in Kenya. The new WHO TAG UGS agrees and is providing countries tools to ensure the patient journey ends in diagnosis and treatment.

How many cases are enough to act? Dr Opare shared new data with FGS prevalence in parts of Ghana up to 22%. Bridges' Dr Jacobson noted that even w/ new estimates, we're still missing upper genital tract cases that cause infertility. We need better diagnostics & routine screening at all levels!
Integration is the path to elimination. Yesterday, Bridges & GLIDE explored how to break silos in global health. From WHO HQ to national programs in Ghana & Kenya, the consensus is clear: Schistosomiasis care must be integrated into routine SRHR and primary health services. 🌍 #HealthEquity #beatNTD
Following #InternationalWomen'sDay, join us on Wednesday 11 March at 4pm CET for a webinar exploring female genital schistosomiasis (#FGSchisto) as an example of why equity, gender, and integration must be central to disease elimination strategies.

On #WorldNTDDay, we shine a light on female genital schistosomiasis (FGS). FGS is caused by a parasitic infection. It's easily treatable and preventable but often unrecognised & misdiagnosed, and many women receive the wrong treatment. Learn more here 🔗 bit.ly/FIG-schisto #BeatNTDs
On #WorldNTDDay, as a @stop2030.org partner, we're celebrating the approval by the Ghana FDA of the fixed- dose combination of ivermectin and albendazole. This co-formulation addresses the need for better medicines and combinations for intestinal worms by WHO’s 2021-2030 Roadmap!

We're honored to share this tribute from our co-founder,
Julie Jacobson, to the legendary Bill Foege. Dr. Foege’s life and work serve as a reminder that the most impactful global health solutions begin with a commitment to people and a heart for service.

From #moxidectin to pediatric praziquantel and the ivermectin–albendazole FDC, promising tools are emerging — but only coordinated planning will unlock their full impact.

Our symposium brought together leaders across sectors to discuss how countries, funders, pharma, and technical partners can prepare for new medicines entering the pipeline.
At #TropMed25, financing and access to NTD innovations were a key theme for Bridges. The donation model has taken us far, but sustainable access pathways are essential for the uptake of new innovations that will allow us to reach WHO’s NTD Roadmap 2030 control and elimination goals.
Inspired to hear the first data from groundbreaking study, MAP-FGS, at #TropMed25! The first study to estimate the prevalence of FGS across sub-Saharan Africa, filling crucial data gaps to guide regional interventions for at-risk women and girls. www.linkedin.com/pulse/key-le... #FGSchisto #beatNTDs
Proud of our Bridges interns at #TropMed25! 2025 interns both presented their master’s theses: Nikita on diabetes & lymphatic filariasis in India and Israel on adolescent boys’ attitudes toward menstruation in Ghana.
Grateful to reconnect with past interns too- the future of global health is bright!
