I love to re-read old books I've had for YEARS. Last month it was #TheSecretHistory (the debut of #DONNATARTT) and today I started in on #INCOLDBLOOD by #TRUMANCAPOTE. I consider this book to be the GOAT of true-crime books. I think I've read it at least 20 times in my life. This one cuts deep.

Died OTD in 2014 one of the finest actors of MY generation. #PhilipSeymourHoffman won an OSCAR in 2006 for Best Actor for his stunning portrayal of the author #TrumanCapote. I was lucky to meet him in the hotel bar at the #BROWNPALACE in Denver back in March of 2oo8. He was very nice to me. RIP

Absolutely. In order to be a really good writer you must be a good story-teller. In order to do that, you need to have LIVED long enough to accumulate good stories worth hearing. There are exceptions to this rule: #TRUMANCAPOTE for example. A naturally gifted story-teller with a vivid imagination.
