A branch on a sycamore tree (old enough I had to shoot up to take this) has very new leaves, several of which are lit up by the sun, including one glowing from its underside.
Shooting down at leaves on more of a toddler than a baby tree shows of the three types of sassafras leaves: simple, unlobed and three-lobed. The third type -- the mitten -- is not on this branch.
A good-sized maple tress shows off some perfect maple leaves. They are a yellowish green with some leaves looking quite yellow in the sunlight.
About the only way to get a good shot of tulip poplar leaves is when they are very young because these trees shoot up quickly. The leaves are very distinctly veined and 4-lobed with two lobes on closer together at the top and another two spanning the full width of the leaf.
