After a fantastic themed track on European security at #UACES2024, we're doing the same for #UACES2025. We can't wait to see your paper and panel proposals! There's certainly plenty to discuss right now and Liverpool is a great city for a conference!
The week so far: meet - run - sleep repeat. No time yet to reflect on #UACES2024, emails keep on coming, marathon just over 3 weeks away
#UACES2024 journey complete, using the green travel option. Left Munich by train this morning and am home by sunset.
Worms!
Had toyed with a Council of Trent/Diet of Worms joke for my #UACES2024 speech, but then couldn't think of one
Kufstein, getting later (π¬ for all my #UACES2024 colleagues on board, who aren't going to be making their connection)
And farewell to my neighbour who's been writing postcards all the way to the AT-DE border and sticking Italian stamps on them π€
Agree that @jonworth.eu has done #UACES2024 proud with his advice
And that cushions for trains changes is a good idea
Back to work from the #UACES2024 @uaces.bsky.social in Trento. I don't post pictures because I spent all my time in panels. Particularly in panels organised by @seceur-uaces.bsky.social, which were excellent. Takeaways: Great food for thought, but a major capability-expectation gap in real food.
And it's goodbye to Trento! I had a great #UACES2024 with very interesting panels. It was great to catch up and meet new people over spritz and ice cream. Trento was lovely and the locals incredibly nice!
My #UACES2024 project (which I had started earlier at #ECPR) is done! Inspired by both lots of great papers and motivation to get it down before I head back to Belfast so I can still wear a *summer* top...
Thanks Trento and @uaces.bsky.social for a wonderful #UACES2024. Lovely to meet up with friends and colleagues and be reminded of the good work thatβs going on in European Studies.
As expected, #UACES2024 was fabulous! Looking forward to seeing everyone in Liverpool for #UACES2025. Massive thank you to our colleagues in Trento - you put on an incredible show ππΎ
That's a wrap for #UACES2024 - a huge thank you to everyone who presented, chaired and attended panels in the European Security track. We're looking forward to Liverpool already!

Presenting about #Parlement the tv show
And that's a wrap for #UACES2024 - had a blast seeing old friends and making new one, thinking about Europe and what we can do to make it/our field better!
Hope to see many of you in #UACES2025 in Liverpool!
It's a wrap on #UACES2024
Huge thank you to the local organisers here in Trento, the @uaces.bsky.social office and all the delegates for making such a wonderful occasion!
@rguerrina.bsky.social suggested thinking about what CJEU cases we spend time on (Defrenne!).
Similarly in Teaching European Union Politics we make the case for carefully picking policy examples through a) EP Legislative Train b) Commission Have your Say

Day 3 of #UACES2024. Looking forward to discussions on research and learning and teaching in European Studies. Also still around to talk about publication opportunities in Contemporary European Politics.
Conceptual framework for inclusion of Equalities+ agenda - from 'possibility to exist' to knowledgeability and to visibility and belonging.
Thinking about the #canon at #UACES2024 and the disciplining nature of the discipline.
Who gets to write, what they cover, how is something we need to reflect upon as we pick readings!
Before I start teaching #EuropeanStudies again, time for a panel at #UACES2024 on @kslootmaeckers.bsky.social and @rguerrina.bsky.social report The Sound of Silence in the European Studies Canon

A final cappuccino with the Tyrol as a backdrop before leaving Trento. #UACES2024 was a wonderful conference and a place to meet the next generation of EU scholars. Thank you to all the organisers. Arrivederci!

Tremendous panel upcoming here at #uaces2024 on analysis of EP elections
Our panel with Julie Hassing Nielsen, Julia Schulte-Cloos, Julie Smith and Ben Crum, chaired by Emmanuele Massetti
For the first time ever in a plenary at a major conference (?) there are more women called Julie/Julia than men speaking.
Time for a great discussion on the 2024 #EuropeanElections πͺπΊπ #UACES2024
