Human case of avian flu detected in England UKHSA confirms rare case of bird flu (H5N1) in the West Midlands region.

🚨⚠️ First case of Avian Flu A(H5N1) detected in the UK (also first in Europe this year). #UKSHA reports the patient worked regularly with birds in a farm and is current under hospital surveillance. Genotyping shows DI.2, different than 🇺🇸. Risk remains very low.
