There is good news from today’s UK spending review. The changes to the Green Book will make it easier to justify investment spending in less productive areas. Very important and overdue.

The investment emphasis and the winter fuel u-turn are welcome in today’s spending review. However, the significant cuts to non-protected departments are still there and solutions to the social care and local services crises are still not there. Not visionary.

While we laud strong leadership on health, aid spending has been reduced globally with dire consequences for the #HIV response & global health security.

Without continued UK investment in the #GlobalFund, we risk losing progress on ending #AIDS.

Responding to the Spending Review, we are pleased to see Scotland get a £2.9 billion lift through the Barnett formula.

We all hope that Scottish Govt will use this newfound budget flexibility to earmark every penny of this capital uplift for affordable and social housing.
