The Dennis Deane Arnold Prize,established by a bequest, rewards a USANZ Member who has achieved outstanding laboratory-based research of a urological nature.The inaugural recipient,presented at #USANZ26 was Weranja Ranasinghe, who presented his work at the American Society of Clinical Oncology #GU26
The Board of Urology pin, presented to the Chair, recognises the prestige of the position. At the #USANZ26 Gala Dinner, the Outgoing Chair Lydia Johns Putra
presented the pin to Incoming Chair Rick Catterwell and welcomed him to this important role.
Named in honour of 2 past USANZ Presidents, the Low-Arnold Award acknowledges the best podium or poster presentation by a Member in the field of Female or Functional Urology. For #USANZ26, the recipient is Marni Basto who presented on artificial urinary sphincter.
Named in honour of a past Member who made a significant contribution to USANZ, the Alban Gee Award is presented for the best poster presentation at the ASM. The recipient for #USANZ26 is Kieran Sandhu.
The Keith Kirkland Award acknowledges the best presentation of a study with direct clinical impact or related to individual patient care by a SET Urology Trainee at the ASM. The #USANZ26 recipient is Ramesh Shan for his presentation on the MBC trial.
Last night's final formality was to acknowledge the countless hours of preparation over the past year by #USANZ26 & #ANZUNS26 Convenors & Scientific Chairs. Thank you to Renu Eapen, Devang Desai, Luke Mitchell and Felicity Petricola for their dedication to making the ASM a success.
The ANZUNS Diamond Award entitles the recipient to travel to a major international urological centre and conference. At #ANZUNS26 & #USANZ26, the award was presented to Xuan Lee by ANZUNS President Melissa Caruso

At #ANZUNS26 & #USANZ26 the ANZUNS President Melissa Caruso presented the ANZUNS Best Paper Award to Russell Briggs; Most Innovative Paper Award to Stu Wilder; Best New Presenter Award to Tiphany Catalan; and Talbot-Crowe Award to Sally Sara (accepted on her behalf).
At the #USANZ26 Gala Dinner, USANZ recognised the exceptional work of Lydia Johns Putra who is now retiring from her role as the Chair of the Board of Urology.
At #USANZ26 the Society recognises the exceptional service of Mark Frydenberg who has over a decade in service to the USANZ Board including as President in 2015-7 and Urology Specialty Rep on the RACS Council since 2017.
The USANZ Christchurch Medal is awarded to Urologists who have given exceptional community service. At #USANZ26 the medal was presented to Richard Grills in recognition of his commitment to surgical service and training across three decades and multiple continents.
The Best Oncology Presentation Award was presented at #USANZ26. The recipient is invited to deliver the USANZ Lecture at the @anzuptrials.bsky.social ASM. This year's recipient is Weranja Ranasinghe for his work on Cxbladder triage and urothelial carcinoma detection in patients with haematuria.
The British Association of Urological Surgeons Trophy is presented each year at the USANZ ASM to recognise the best scientific podium presentation by a Full Member. The recipient for #USANZ26 is Jonathan Kam.
The Villis Marshall Award is given to the best presentation by a full-time research trainee of a study in which epidemiological, economic or basic science/translational content are the primary outcomes examined. The #USANZ26 recipient is Bharti Arora for 'Scatter of Urology'.
The Daniel Christidis Scholarship, established to honour the memory of our respected and valued SET1 Trainee. This year's recipient is Niranjan Sathianathen, who was presented with the award by Daniel's sister Melissa and brother Mike, at the #USANZ26 Gala Dinner.
USANZ was delighted to bestow the title of Honorary Member of the Society on Dr Allen Chiu at #USANZ26, in recognition of his distinguished contributions to urology. Allen's career has spanned clinical excellence, academic leadership, public service, and governance roles.

Last night was the #USANZ26 Gala Dinner. After a busy three days, the event recognised the outstanding efforts of the urological community in Australia and New Zealand, providing an opportunity for everyone to let their hair down and hit the dance floor.
